Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials report initial examinations suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any injuries in relation with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.
An important official commented the attack rendered him stunned and had to be resolved quickly.
"This act hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
